The best supermarket specials in Perth right now, shop by shop. These are Western Australian prices: the same product can cost a different amount in the eastern states, and Spudshed only trades in WA. A shop only gets a section when it has enough worthwhile specials, so not every shop appears every time. How we pick them is explained further down.

Worth it on the everyday stuff

Milk, bread, mince, coffee — the basics a normal shop is built on, marked down this week.

How we pick these

  • Checked against price history. We compare each special with the prices we've recorded for that product at that retailer over roughly the last three months. If the "was" price is clearly higher than any price we've recorded, the special price is barely below its usual level, or we don't have enough history to judge, the special is left out.
  • The shop's own "was" price. Every "was" price on this page is the one the shop itself shows. Where the only "was" price would be our own estimate from past prices, the special is left out.
  • Checked before this page is updated. Each price must match a recent record of that shop's price for this region, or it's dropped.
  • At least 20% off and at least $1 saved, with the picks spread across the aisles so the list isn't all chocolate and soft drink.
  • IGA shops set their own prices, so IGA specials come from one named shop and may be different at other IGAs.

When do specials change?

Coles and Woolworths run their weekly specials from Wednesday to Tuesday, so new specials appear each Wednesday morning, in store and online. ALDI's groceries are everyday-low prices rather than weekly specials, but its Special Buys land on Wednesdays and Saturdays. IGA catalogues usually change mid-week too, though independent shops vary.

The date at the top of this page is when these prices were checked. A special can sell out or end early, so check the shop before you buy. More on the weekly specials cycle.

Compare by unit price

A special isn't always the cheapest way to buy something. The unit price on the shelf ticket (the price per 100g, per litre or per item) lets you compare pack sizes and brands fairly. Bigger packs usually win on unit price, but not always: when the smaller pack is on special, it can be the better buy. We compared 3,829 same-product size pairs to see how often.
